For one breif and shining moment...

I thought I'd be able to see my friends this summer. As just about every one is leaving next week. But no. Hate to sound like a bitchy teenager, but I don't want to spend the next four days with my grandparents. I am going to fucking die. I feel terrible, because I hate being around them. I don't know why. Just do. And I have to "set aside this time for them". So any one who wants to see me... unless you drop in unannounced it looks like I'm stuck.
FUCK
I FUCKING HATE SUMMER.

What?!
Hee hee hee... conspiracy theorists are funny.
Just spent the last hour and a half reading about the supposed "clues".
Honestly, the Beatles have enough music, you could prove just about anything. Especially with the drugged out lyrics.

Though... the would be the fake Paul really doesn't look like the one I've been drawing. And that would explain why I am loath to look upon the old-man Paul. And why his chin only looks like Conor's in the first picture I drew. Hmmmm...

I'm being silly now. Some one smack me.

Pineapples!

No, KatieKatie, I mean the actual fruit. I have found it to be the most effective way (short of running all the way around Portland hugging all my missing buddies) to avoid Summer dull-drums. That and listening to the Thermals. And some Natasha Bedwhatsit. Yep. BABIES!
And "attack[ing people] as Pacman would attack a ghost".
Oh man, I have a single white hair growing on my head. It's lovely and shiny. Mum says maybe I'll end up with a streak there. YESH! Like Rogue. Who's a sap in the X-Men movies, but awesome in the comics.
And I cleaned my room. And did a self portrait. That I will show to no one because it's not any good. Only when I'm sure I can get it right.
Phooey. Monkeys.

For anyone who would understand the irony. There are only two bear rugs in my life. They are named Rosencrantz and Guilderstern. They are quite dead. And I labled Rosencrantz "Guilderstern". And Guilderstern "Rosencrantz".
Insert theater-nut laugh here.

Faust- The Rock Opra

Just went to see Faust at Da Vinci MS. It was amazing.
Music: Fantastically hard core. Dramatic, without--generally--getting too...melodramatic. Well played by fantastic people. Some of the singing wanted a bit of help and the bass was out of tune by the end. But that was pretty much it as far as complaints for me in that department.
Acting: Lovely and elegantly underplayed. Beautiful moments. Some of the chorus seemed a little dead at moments, but there was a lot of great energy over all--and it is middle school anyway. The leads were Amazing.
Costume: Awesomely meshed with the feeling of the show. Lisette's was particularly effective, though I wish the angels had fit the rest of the world better.
Set: Sparce. I loved it A raked stage with an amazing texture that looking like a morbid quilt on it. One shallow trap door and a small ramp to lower in back--into hell of course.
Lights: Spotlights were spastic and coverage seemed awkward at moments. But there were some really beautiful bits as well. There was one lighting that made me shiver--it just glowed!

Jordan Beck: AMAZING as usual.

Rosencrantz and Grover Cleveland

Pcc was borrowing a bear rug from the CHS drama department for their show, Swan White.
They decided to name it Grover Cleveland. How clever.
But then they decided Cleveland was too small. So I was assigned to create a new fake bear rug from a lot of fake fur and a lion mask.
I spent four more hours working on it today.
I got fake fur all over me. Finished the sideburnish area today. Then I was super slow at sewing up the legs, because I was tired. And then the sound guy came over and lay down on the body. I'll attach the head next time.
I am very tired.
The new bear's name is Rosencrantz. Because it's dead.

I love Rosencrantz.

American Idol Sucks

I am never watching that show again. They just voted off the only person I ever actually liked on there. Of course, that didn't make me watch any more than five or six of the shows this season. Just another friggen beauty contest in the end. If Chris were thin and spiked his hair and had some boring square jaw he'd still be there.
What does that leave me watching? Heros. And not even that because I'm not home when that's on. Whatever. TV is disgusting.
Maybe I'll just move my elitist ass into a theatre and be done with it. As I'm obviously too good for the rest of our culture.
I'm going to shut up now. I feel kind of loopy, having spent most of the day writing and making wire roses for the cast and crew of Billum Bay.
I love our show so much.

By the by. Anyone who's planning to see it this weekend needs to make sure and make reservations. Like... Katiekatie... ? I will die of joy if Katiekatie can come too.

Draperies

Mum's helping me make a prom dress essentially out of curtains with makes me super happy. And I'm going to learn how to wait... what's it called? couch? sprouch? smu--no Smock! I'm going to do some smocking! You'd better all watch your backs... Alfred's on the loose and she'll smock your pants up! All over. Smocking looks like a chain link fence. Lovely fun stuff.
Dee's arm fell off yesterday during the show.
I love the shock value of that statement. Dee the puppet. During the first few flashes. So the lights come up the first time and Abela and Dee (the actors) are playing with their respective doll/puppets. Just like every show. Blackout. I hear a little thud and the lights come back up. There's Amber (Abela, the actor, not puppet) standing there half laughing, half shocked, holding Dee's body in one hand and an arm on a stick in the other. Aurora and I (Aurora plays Herringbone) are trying very hard not to laugh. Amber comes backstage laughing sighlently. I quickly assess what broke and reatatch the arm with my hair tie, just in time for her cue.
Which made me feel super clever.
Amber whispers to me that Abela's head is also on backwards. And we have trouble not laughing.
Abela the puppet I mean.
So Dee came home with me. She's sitting on the mantle, freaking out my family, until I fix her.
Sure is weird seeing her outside of the theatre. Dee doesn't fit in the real world.
I do hope Katie can come see this thing!
Closing came way to quickly on this show.
But I look forward to this weekend more than ever. It's going to be beautiful. I found my stage ninja glove again, which I take to be a good omen.

My hands still look gruesome.
It will be very weird to have normal colored hands again when this is over.

I can't beleive this computer's actually letting me post. It's been being an ass about letting me on lj for days now.

Just found two cds I got for Christmas. One sucks and one rocks. Whiney boy band... or amazing vocalist and epic rock? Hmmm...
Sometimes I wonder where my family is getting their ideas about my taste in music. Year before last I got The Who and Alicia Keys. Again, disgusting love songs, or a beautiful rock opra about a train engineer? Yeah.

Back to my play today!!! Thank--
Holy fuck!
Just looked out the window...
Our tree... is... branchless.
Oh. It's terrible.
I forgot they were coming in to chop it down...
Crap. Way to destroy my day. I guess it was dying. And tearing apart the foundation of our house.
Oh... I think I'd better go to the library and be far away from this poor skeleton of a tree.

Billum Bay

This play is amazing. I'm so excited to get back to rehearsal. I only hope that Patrick will bring in the final projection images, because I've just been messing around with these crappy little rehearsal things that really don't work at all. We have a projector hooked up to a dvd player facing away from the stage bhind the audience that spits out these little images. I then control those little pictures with hand mirrors so we get coolish little floating things all over the stage.

Everything is going so smoothly it's crazy!

This company is amazing. The sound guy (named Mike, appropriately enough, as Mike runs the mics and all hehehe) aparently has never worked in a theatre production before, but he's got this killer soundtrack, and the director is so together and decisive and pleasant to work with and the actors are so energetic and I've worked with the lighting tech before and she's amazingly on top of everything and oh man! Joel, the set designer just found this awesome way to make some one appear in a mirror and Lauren found a way to light it all greenish and surreal.

I love this show so much!

And the artistic directer, Kate, said she might have another job for me. It's a historical feminist musical that hasn't gotten very far in the production concept yet. Thank god, because I need a break after this. I haven't stopped moving since... ever.
From quitting school to MCM to Damn Yankees to the antithesis of vacations in tourist mini bavaria to MADE for Kids to another MADE for Kids mess with Jingle Spree and two weeks after the close of those One Acts and a day later a week long sickness and two days for making the Pick of Destiny and then a winter break of sickness and a month and a half for this show and tech week and... wow.

If I ever get my act together I've got a killer resume.

Huzzah for the first flip-out day of 2007. Ouch. What a shitty day.
Let us not speak of it, but simply eat smarties like the good old days while scrubbing the red splotches from our hands with mechanic's soap.

I'm going to go kick something now.

Today sucks. The end. In fifteen minutes the curse of Valentines Day will be lifted.
Today. Really. Sucked.
The high points:
2 Valentines and Sam Parker. I don't usually get Valentines and Sam Parker is an amazing kid. Nuff said.

Tomorrow. I die. Forty-two hours until tech is due.
I have a scene to write, that's not going well at all. I have a monologue to find, yeah that's not going to happen.
Women's monologues are about husbands, love lost, or children. Teen monologues are stereotypes perpetuated by grown-ups who think their doing the 'teen culture' a favor. Like every woman is only ever dreaming of a man and every teen girl is either obsessed with "the popular girls", breaking up with a friend or coming clean about some "painful past". Fuck off and write your own age group. Pardon my french, I'm so sick of bad writing right now. Not just theirs, mine is being spastic too. This is no time to be hypocritical.
Tomorrow I have too much to do so I can't let myself stay for lunch for any reason. Not even Frizbee.

Hello February 15th. You'd better do better than the 14th did or some one's going to get... hurt. BWAHAHA!

Valentines Day Eve

I had no idea it was my parents anniversary. Twenty years for then now. Crazy. Dad's got a comb over now. I just realized that. Not much gray in it though. Lovely black, I wonder if I'll end up with that kind of hair later. Not thinning, I mean. Dad's hair got darker in collage.

Speaking of gray-- I am quickly growing fond of this singer "The Grey Kid". It was mom's bright idea to look him up after seeing the amazing youtube video "Paxilback". Which I shall now place here as my first youtube link thingy.

He's my valentine.

Because some banana-like men are assholes. Though I no longer need to carry a grudge. I'll work on that. That's the good news. Chivalry has been shown by said banana-like man.

Bad news. I don't have eight days until final tech is due as I thought--

I have

THREE.

Thank god they're bringing Paxil back. heeheehee...
